These regional market funds will be distributed through its Priority Banking Division, Al Shaheen.
'The Arab equity markets have boomed over the past few years and markets across the region have delivered strong returns to a growing number of regional and international investors. Trading on the equity markets have doubled compared to previous years and continues to grow. More companies are making their shares available to the general market through listings on the major exchanges' said Mr. Faisal Aqil, Head of Al Shaheen.
The Emirates Bank regional market range will now also include the Arab Gateway Fund and the Arab Income Fund, both managed by Shuaa Capital PSC. These additions provide a natural complement to the Bank's existing local retail offering. The initiative is the first in a number of steps to provide Al Shaheen clients with a comprehensive range of regional investment opportunities across both conventional and Islamic investment areas. Al Shaheen investors now can now further diversify their regional exposure through investing in the wider Arab equity markets via the Arab Gateway Fund.
Alternatively, more conservative investors may wish to take exposure purely to Arab debt markets via the Arab Income Fund. Both funds are denominated in US Dollars and offer clients monthly subscription and redemptions.
Mr. Faisal Aqil, Head of Al Shaheen said that this broadened regional offering is just the start of a comprehensive regional range enabling investors to have the appropriate investment tools to react to various market cycles and to tailor their regional portfolio to their own specific investment preferences. Interested investors may contact any of the Al Shaheen centers conveniently located across the UAE.
