Two international speakers, including Joe Liddane, Managing Director of Setanta Performance International and Dr. Jörg Klukas of T-Systems Multimedia Solutions will address the conference, in addition to representatives from the winning companies of the Dubai Quality Award 2004.

"This conference represents a commitment on the part of the Dubai Quality Award winners to share their expertise in quality management with the rest of the business community," said Mr Essa Kazim, Co-ordinator General, Dubai Quality Award and Director General, Dubai Financial Market (DFM). "This is an annual conference and an ongoing attempt to create synergistic awareness of the concepts of quality and excellence," he added.

"Through this conference, the DQA winners attempt to promote business excellence in society, by each sharing a specific best practice which has proved valuable to their organizations. It also plays a major role in facilitating companies to benefit from the internationally recognised criteria for excellence, that is the basis of the DQA," he added.

"This conference is in keeping with the mandate of the Dubai Quality Group to provide a basis for the exchange of knowledge among the business community," said Mr. Abdul Qader Ali, Chairman of the Board, DQG. "Through this conference, we hope to work closely with the business community and enable the alignment of their management techniques with world-wide best practice," he added.

The conference is hosted jointly by the Dubai Quality Award Secretariat and the Dubai Quality Group. The DQA secretariat was set up by the Department of Economic Development (DED) to oversee all activities related to the Dubai Quality Award and is responsible for the management, processing and assessment of applications for the various categories of the award. The Dubai Quality Group is a non-profit business organisation set up by the DED and offers many programmes throughout the year with the objective of cascading quality and service among its member organizations.

"The conference is aimed at enabling organizations to benchmark their existing quality management practices against some of the best performing companies in Dubai," said Dr. Lway Nackasha, Adviser Quality and Excellence, DED. "The dynamic criteria of the award is updated constantly in line with the European criteria, after reviewing feedback from applicant companies and assessors," he added.

The speakers at the Share Best practice conference comprise winners from the various categories of the award. As a second time winner of the DQA Gold category, Dubai Cable Company Ltd. (DUCAB) will play a premium role at the conference this year. Other winners that will share a best practice with the participants of the conference include Burj Al Arab, The Jumeirah Beach Club Resort and Spa, Emirates Petroleum Products Company (EPPCO) LLC, Kanoo Group (Machinery Division), and Al Ansari Exchange Co.

The Dubai Quality Appreciation Programme (DQAP) winners include DNATA Airport Operations, Dubai Express L.L.C. (Freightworks Branch), PWC Logistics, National Flour Mills Co (L.L.C.), Al Ain Vegetable Processing and Canning Factory, DNATA Agencies, Dubai Pharmacy College, ABN AMRO Bank N-V, and Jobtrack.

Admission to the conference is by invitation from the winners of the Dubai Quality Award and is open to over 400 delegates. Interested participants are invited to contact the Dubai Quality Group on Tel. No. 3431950 or visit the DQG website at www.dqg.org OR the DQA Secretariat Office on Tel. No. 2020218.

The Share Best Practice conference holds a special place amongst the many programmes offered by the DQG and the DQA secretariat, because it serves as an ideal platform for an enlightened exchange of ideas between role-model organisations and potential aspirants of the DQA.
