IATS results re-confirm CNN as number one channel for all global air travellers
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, May 15 - 2005 at 14:36
- PRESS RELEASE
The 2005 IATS (International Air Travellers Survey) has seen CNN reconfirm its position as the channel of choice amongst all global air travellers, with research showing the network continues to rank number one among all international channels on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Within the top demographic of frequent business travellers, CNN's reach extends even further, reinforcing the findings of 2004's 'EMS Select' research that similarly targeted upscale viewers. Amongst these 'global citizens', a core target audience of influential decision makers earning €80,000 or more per year or taking at least six air trips, CNN reaches 25% more viewers every day than BBC World, the nearest competition.
"These IATS findings consolidate CNN's position as the channel of choice for the critical demographic of the upscale viewer or 'global citizen', and we continue to outperform the competition in attracting the high end of the business decision makers and influencers to the channel," said Rani R Raad, CNN Advertising Sales, Southern Europe, Middle East and Africa.
In addition, the more affluent these business travellers, the more they watch CNN, with 46.5% of those earning more than $200,000 a year having watched the network in the previous four weeks, compared to just 32.2% for BBC World. Of respondents watching any of the five channels surveyed, these key 'global citizens' also ranked CNN first amongst all channels in attributes including being 'Influential' 'First with the news' and 'Helps me in my work'.
