Providing buyers with a glimpse of how our homes will look and operate in the future, all are keen to see the latest trends in the home appliance sector, catering to the fast developing and ever changing market.
Organised by Epoc Messe Frankfurt, the three day trade event has attracted some of the biggest names in the business such as Fisher and Paykel, Gaggenau, GE, Miele, Olympic Group, Siemens, TCL, Palson and Teka. More than 90 exhibitors from 16 countries have transformed the exhibition halls into a festival of home technology, including many live demonstrations.
'People have been very positive about the new technologies on show at the exhibition and welcome their arrival in the UAE,' commented exhibition manager, Melissa O'Gorman. 'Its wonderful to see so many of our exhibitors returning from last year in order to take their business in the UAE one step further.'
One such company is Swiss based Laurastar, who exhibited with Hometech Middle East for the first time in 2004. According to Christian Bordas, Vice Director of Exports, 'the last show allowed us to establish a presence in the UAE, and now we are available direct to the public through demonstration areas in shopping malls.
Our product is adapted from the commercial ironing systems, we have taken the same technology and adapted it for the home.'
The wide selection of televisions at Hometech is indicative of the dynamic nature of the TV market. Often the subject of much debate amongst families, obviously size matters when it comes to choosing the right screen. Apparently men tend to go for the largest screens possible while women go for the less intrusive, smaller screens. Plasma and LCD options have brought more elegance, but size is still a major issue.
One of the exhibitors at the show, Intelligent Homes has created a perfect solution. The man can buy the size of Plasma/LCD screen he wants, and the woman can choose the perfect frame and painting to cover it. 'Mr Arthur Yannoukos, Business Development Manager for Intelligent Homes said that they provide a choice of 400 canvases and frames that can sit around the TV.
Once the viewing is finished and at the press of a button, a painting of your choice rolls down and hides the screen.'
If you don't fancy a painting, you can choose a mirror. 'A glass mirror can also sit on top of the plasma which doesn't obstruct the viewing while the TV is on, but turns into a mirror when the TV is off. With your choice of a frame, you can have a very elegant mirror hiding your TV.
What you actually see is the subject of Dr. Jordan Samhuri from Sensio Middle East . They are demonstrating a new 3D home cinema system - a breakthrough in technology that makes stereoscopic 3D viewing at home possible. Dr Samhuri explains the concept of 3D and how this system will transform home entertainment, all with a pair of innovative glasses that conveniently cover your eyes or other glasses.
