Eyeleds, which have been developed by Lighting Partners BV in the Netherlands, are unique because of their minimal recess depth, ten year LED life span, negligible power consumption and the impressive assortment of styles and colours.
The patented 'flat' LED system is the latest development in architectural and decorative indoor and outdoor lighting. With flat cable installation, no expensive trunking is required, and the 12v operating system can be installed in situ with carpet, ceramic, stone, quartz and wood laminate flooring, and also in wall installations and plaster. The patented 'snap-in, snap-out' design also makes it suitable to temporary installations for use in exhibitions, events and displays. A 40 LED Eyeleds chain (50 linear metres long) can be run from a single 12volt transformer.
'Eyeleds are revolutionary in that they are just 6.5mm in depth which means that they can be installed in all types of flooring with minimal effort and without the need for an electrician,' said Ube Kodde, Global Sales Manager, Eyeleds. 'Further to that, the Eyeleds LED unit has a lifespan of over 10 years, offering ease of maintenance and dramatically cutting costs in long use'.
'Power consumption for each LED unit is 0.3W/hour, 50 times less than a 15W standard filament bulb, with an annual running cost of less than US$ 1.00 per year,' added Kodde.
Eyeleds have been accredited by ISO and are the only 'flat' LED lighting to receive the German VDE certification, and presently come in three distinct styles; round, square and an 'arrowed' guide LED - the latter predominantly being used in emergency and safety lighting to highlight escape routes and exits.
'We opted for a number of different styles to accommodate demand from different market segments,' said Kodde. 'Eyeleds are suited for decorative projects but have a significant use in health and safety projects.'
Eyeleds are both water resistant and dust proof to IP67 standard. Eyeleds have also launched the new Eyeled Pro system, which is designed for outdoor use in driveways, pathways, swimming pool surrounds and decking areas. Eyeleds are available with White, Blue, and Amber LED's, with Brushed Steel or Brass housings.
Development of the Eyeled technology is rapidly progressing with the launch of a new multi -coloured programmable Eyeled system, that offers stunning light displays, and the new 'PowerLed' - a one watt hyper-version of the current Eyeled unit, designed for use in shipping and specific illumination projects.
Lighting Partners have established a regional office in the UAE to continue with their Worldwide expansion, and are appointing wholesalers and stockists to service the expanding Middle East floor lighting market.
