With the regional airport expansion projects going apace at a fever-pitch, only those companies in the advertising and signage sector that offer superior quality service with an enviable track record will be in a position to win major contracts.

This could be achieved only through stringent quality parameters and greater workmanship.

Emirates Neon, one of the largest retail and industrial signage and outdoor advertising company in the region, which automatically qualifies on all these criteria, will mark this year's participation with samples of its airport signage works in the prestigious Airport Build and Supply Exhibition from May 23 to 25, 2005 to be held at the Dubai Airport Expo.

"The 30-square meter Emirates Neon pavilion will display samples of airport way finding/information solution system and other signage works in order to demonstrate its capabilities that keep it way above its competitors. The company has been participating in the exhibition since 2001 which has elicited several interesting trade enquiries that ultimately resulted in major contracts. We are sure this year's participation will prove equally fruitful," said Mr. Rehan Merchant, Executive Director, Emirates Neon.

"In short, Emirates Neon's absolute might in the signage and outdoor advertising sector will be presented to trade visitors. The company will be aiming to maintain its market leadership in the regional airport signage industry at such exhibitions where quality and workmanship could be displayed for the sector's decision-makers," added Mr. Rehan Merchant.

"The Airport Build and Supply Exhibition is an ideal platform for Emirates Neon to launch its future thrust and widen its regional and international market reach. We are currently reviewing plans for expansion within the GCC, North Africa and the Indian Sub-continent markets. Our track-record has taken us to these markets where demand for our professional signage services is quite high," Mr. Rehan Merchant pointed out.

The company is implementing various contracts as part of the Dubai International Airport's US$4.2-billion expansion project currently under way. At Cairo Airport, the company last year executed a massive signage project as part of the refurbishment of Terminal One.

"Emirates Neon has already completed several projects for Dubai International Airport, Abu Dhabi International Airport, Al Ain International Airport, and Sharjah International Airport. The outstanding, error-free and timely completion of high volume mega projects is Emirates Neon's specialty. The company has been able to achieve this with the most modern equipment and its team of highly skilled and experienced project managers, engineers, designers and technicians," observed Mr. Rehan Merchant.

Research indicates that the advertising expenditure in the GCC witnessed a major increase of 38% to US$3.9 billion in 2004 against US$2.8 billion in 2003. This year is expected to witness the same growth trend. This is an indication of the growth prospects and the possibility to increase market share for Emirates Neon in such a fast expanding region.

The three-day Airport Build and Supply Exhibition 2005 already boasts of an impressive line-up of over 300 exhibitors, according to Streamline Marketing, organizers of the event.
