Toshiba's latest Qosmio notebook converges entertainment and computing
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, May 18 - 2005 at 11:48
- PRESS RELEASE
Following the success of its digital home convergence products, Toshiba Middle East has introduced the Qosmio G20, the latest in its successful Qosmio series of notebooks that combine high-quality audio/visual entertainment with powerful PC functionality, wireless capabilities and sleek design for the high-end consumer.
The new product complements the Qosmio series' unique "4-in-1" experience - television, audio, DVD/HDD recorder and PC - with a host of new features designed to enhance Qosmio's audiovisual capabilities. This includes a sleek, innovatively designed silver casing and glossy black interior, and the brightest 17-inch display in the Qosmio family through Toshiba TrueBrite® technology.
The Qosmio G20 also closely mirrors the form factor of consumer electronics products found in today's digital home. It has features such as sensor touch audio/video buttons, lateral volume controls, LCD volume display and remote control to give users the same lifestyle experience as traditional consumer products.
The Qosmio G20 is further enhanced by its advanced feature set which includes best-in-class audio capabilities through SRS WOW XT and TruSurround XT technology and Harman Kardon® speakers, and enhanced video and multimedia power through Toshiba's QosmioEngine and NVDIA® Geforce™ 6 series graphics capabilities.
The Qosmio series are the first products of its kind to address a rapidly growing AV-notebook PC convergence market and represent a milestone in Toshiba's move into the home digital convergence space, combining the company's strengths in computing and consumer electronics to meet rising consumer demand for simpler, more personal entertainment solutions.
"Computing is becoming more mobile, more personal, and more multi-functional, combining the functionality of PCs and home electronics in single or more consolidated digital platforms," said Ahmed Khalil, general manager of Toshiba Computer Systems for Middle East and Africa. "The huge success of the Qosmio series, now complemented by the launch of the Qosmio G20, places Toshiba squarely in the centre of a rapidly growing market for digitally converged products that is seeing consumers use mobile technology in new and different ways."
