  • PRESS RELEASE

As the deadline for registration at the forthcoming Iraq Development Program summit in Amman, Jordan on 28-30 June 2005 approaches, the program has received a further boost with confirmation of attendance from a number of senior level Iraqi officials, including H.E. Abdel Falah Hassan, Iraqi Minister of Education.

The summit takes place in Amman next month, providing the opportunity for international company representatives to meet with leading Iraqis from both the private sector and government level, to discuss how to become involved in the enormous development drive currently taking place in Iraq.

H.E. Abdel Falah Hassan will lead a delegation of officials from the Ministry of Education, which has embarked on a fast paced schedule of school rehabilitation and will be keen to meet with suppliers of school equipment such as textbooks along with educational software technology and online school services.

The Iraq Development Program summit differs from the standard conference-based format, instead focusing on the importance of face-to-face meetings and personalised dialogue.

The summit also received confirmation this week that expert presentations will be held by senior officials from both the World Bank and the Project & Contracting Office, the former focusing on the need for increased investment into Iraq and the latter on how to become involved in the contracting process.

With the new government firmly in place and the country now looking forward to a bright future of empowerment through increased trade, investment and technology transfer, there has never been a better time to become involved in the redevelopment of Iraq.
