Founded in 1913, The UK based Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) is the leading professional body for those involved in the management and development of people. knet will offer the foundation-level 'Certificate in Personnel Practice' (CPP) commencing 4th to 8th June 2005. The qualification is aimed at Human Resources professionals working at the level of personnel assistant, personnel administrator or personnel officer, whose role it is to provide support for key aspects of the personnel function or for individuals new to, or aspiring to, a career in Human Resources. The CPP programme is also suitable for line managers, supervisors or team leaders who wish to gain the same level of personnel skills as practitioners at this level and the owners or managers of small businesses.

The CPP is intended to provide individuals with the skills required in personnel work and to serve as an introduction to the work of a Human Resources department, providing an awareness of the context of personnel functions, the key issues that impact on personnel issues and a platform for studies in personnel. The programme consists of four modules, each of 5 days duration, covering planning and strategy, recruitment and selection, training and development, and performance management and employee relations.

Successful candidates who receive the CPP are eligible for Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and access to a wide range of benefits and services to assist them in their career. Membership of the CIPD demonstrates a commitment to high standards of professionalism and to continuing professional development. The CPP is widely accepted by employers as a requirement of practice. The CIPD has over 116,000 members throughout the UK and Ireland.

knet also offers the Certificate in Training Practice starting in September 2005 and the Certificate in Recruitment and Selection starting in November 2005.

Abdulqader Al Khaja, Chief Executive Officer, knet said "We are delighted to offer new course dates for the CIPD, which is one of our most popular programmes, especially amongst UAE nationals. There is a definite need to equip individuals working within Human Resources departments with the professional skills required to develop their own career, and in turn, for them to develop the careers of those they are responsible for."
