Man Investment Products sponsors the 8th Arab Investment and Capital Markets Conference

More than 700 Arab participants including institutional investors, bankers, economists and policy makers will meet today in Beirut to discuss the new economic challenges facing the region in the light of the global and regional economic and political developments.

The three-day conference, which has been dubbed "The Arab Davos" and the regional "International Monetary Fund, will be inaugurated by HE Rafic Hariri, Lebanese Prime Minister.

" The Arab Capital Markets " which is now widely regarded as the most influential high level economic and financial summit in the region will also be attended by HE Amro Mousa, Secretary General, The Arab League, Dr. Joseph Torbey, Chairman of Union of Arab Banks, and Chairman, Association of Banks, HE Riad Salame, Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, and HE Ali Bin Ibrahim Al Noaimi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia,

HE Sameh Fahmy, Petroleum Minister of Egypt, HE Mohamed Abalkhail, Chairman of Center for Economic and Management Studies and Former Minister of Finance and National Economy in Saudi Arabia as well as Ministries of Economy of Jordan, Lebanon and Seria.

Trends in global investments, the future of economic reform and Arab Islamic Banking, investment in Arab countries and the next phase of investments in energy will be debated by Arab and international think tanks and regulators.

Antoine Massad, Associate Director and Head of Middle East and Asia for Man Investment Products, a leading international alternative investment manager, which is sponsoring the event said, " The Arab Capital Markets " has established itself as the foremost economic conference in the region, connecting leaders and businessmen from across the Arab world - from North Africa to Levant and the Arabian Gulf. Speakers at the conference will include HE Dr. Muhammed Al Jasser, Chairman of the Arab Investment Company, Vice Governor of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency, HE Dr. Basil Fuleihan, Lebanese Minister of Economy and Trade, Mark Chambers, Associate Director, Man Investment Products, Mr. Michael Buchanan, Executive Director and Senior International Economist, Goldman Sachs International and Dr. Mohammed Taymour, Chairman of EFG - Hermes

"There is a clear need for regional institutions to look at global investment trends and reassess their investment strategies in line with local and international developments", says Massad.
