Emirates Post's Training & Development Centre won the Stevie in the 'Best New Product or Service' category, while Mr. Abdullah Al Daboos, Director General of Emirates Post, was a finalist in the 'Best Turnaround Executive' category.

The awards were presented at a gala ceremony held in New York. Leading companies and prominent individuals from 21 countries were honored at the awards ceremony. 76 International Stevie Award winners were announced in categories ranging from Best Multinational Company and Best New Product to Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program and Best Executive.

Mr. Al Daboos, who received the award on behalf of Emirates Post, said: 'It was a great honour for Emirates Post to be recognized at such a prestigious awards ceremony that spotlighted some of the biggest names from international business. While we are proud to have beaten several established companies, the award will motivate us to work harder to raise the bar on quality and customer service.'

'Our Training and Development Centre has attained high levels of excellence within a short time and therefore rightly deserves this honour,' said Mr. Al Daboos. 'It is already an accredited UPU training centre, with unmatched state of the art facilities. Our strategic objective is to make it a high-quality training hub for other postal companies in the region, through innovative staff development consultancy and training solutions.'

The awards were presented at a gala dinner ceremony held on May 19 at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers in New York City. The ceremonies were videocast live worldwide. Tanya Beckett of the BBC was the master of ceremonies.
Hailed as 'the business world's own Oscars', the Stevie Award is made by the same company that makes the Oscar, Clio and other major awards. Members of the Stevie Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs selected the winners during final judging April 11-22, which was preceded by two months of preliminary judging by business professionals worldwide.
