Abu Dhabi General Directorate Police barracks connects to Tabreed

Under the terms of the deal, Tabreed will supply cooling services to the compound.

Commenting on the signing of the contract, Mr. Mohamed Al Qamzi, Chief Operating Officer of Tabreed, said: "Tabreed has proven its leadership in the district cooling market and our efficient and tailor-made services have not only attracted high profile clients, but also attracted various government institutions who in addition to the cooling requirements they also require high levels of security, which is one of the main attributes of district cooling and of our services in particular."

Construction of the project has already started and the expected date of completion is between 8 to 12 months. Tabreed already has a number of schemes in place in Abu Dhabi City and now it will provide cooling to the Guards compound as well as the possibility of connecting any existing and coming new developments in its vicinity.

"We thank the Abu Dhabi Police Directorate for their trust in Tabreed and for giving us the opportunity to provide them with our services," Al Qamzi concluded.

Tabreed has recently announced its financial results for the first quarter in 2005 with a net profit increase exceeding 193% over the same period last year. The company has also completed its AED 500 million rights issue with a two-times oversubscription, thus, bringing the total capital to AED 1 Billion.
