Cholesterol raising conference

German pharmaceutical company Merck hosted a conference in Dubai which issued guidelines for measuring and raising HDL-C lipids in the blood. The risk of suffering heart disease increases when HDL-C, or good cholesterol, is lowered. The conference considered ways of raising HDL-C including the use of an HDL raiser agent used in a recent trial, called Arbiter 2.
