Entrepreneurs in Dubai - the International Entrepreneurship Forum and Exhibition (IEFE) - has brought together an impressive line-up of some of the world's iconic self-made tycoons and corporate pioneers.
During the three-day event, which runs until May 25th at Dubai International Convention Centre (DICC), over 30 international and corporate Arabia leaders deliver views on what it really takes to run a successful business to an audience of more than 1,000 delegates from 28 countries.
'The UAE is the perfect platform to host such an event and Dubai has the entrepreneurship flame to carry the torch of ingenuity and development across the region,' said Saeed Al Muntafiq, Vice Chairman, Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment of Young Business Leaders.
'During the last five years the new Dubai has been created under the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Minister of Defence. HH says that what we see today is only 10% of what he has envisaged for the future. We are blessed that we can continue to transform our dreams into reality.
'We have elevated the spirit of entrepreneurship and remain undeterred knowing that we can do it against all the odds. The new Dubai is emerging from the desert and is surfacing from the seas.
'Dubai is a place where more than 100 nationalities live and work together in harmony, a melting pot of seamless and entrepreneurial coexistence between the public and private sectors.'
Entrepreneurs in Dubai features some of the biggest names in global business, including international property tycoon Donald Trump, Stelios Haji-Ioannou, the man who founded the no-frills Easy Jet airline, The Body Shop initiator Dame Anita Roddick and Sir Chris Evans, Britain's most colourful biotech entrepreneur.
'The Forum is a high level discussion of regional issues which will go as far as to suggest ways to achieve practical solutions on topics critical to entrepreneurial success,' said Jessica Sutherland, General Manager, IIR Exhibitions and Conferences Middle East, which organises the event in conjunction with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment and Young Arab Leaders (YAL), an organisation aimed at transforming the Arab World and aiding its effective integration into the global economy by building its young leadership base.
'Delegates are receiving invaluable, unique insights from the world's most acclaimed entrepreneurs and the Forum tackles burning issues and problems for young entrepreneurs regionwide.
'Other issues tabled for discussion include funding and financing of SME businesses, globalisation in relation to entrepreneurship as well as a look at the world's youngest entrepreneurs,' said Sutherland.
Tuesday's session will feature one of the world's most watched and most quoted businessmen, Donald Trump, Chairman and President, The Trump Organisation, who is scheduled for a video cast appearance to present a case study of immense interest to the entire business community.
Other key highlights for Day Two include a presentation by Max McKeown, Founder and Chairman, Maverick & Strong, Dr Reuben Singh, the British Ambassador for Entrepreneurship and founder of alldayPA and Laura Gucci, President, Pirene Srl.
