The three-day excursion saw the Danish journalists invited to Oman and the United Arab Emirates.

Starting off with a traditional Arabian welcome at the Radisson SAS Hotel, Muscat, the trip included a half-day outing in the Omani capital of Muscat, visiting the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the national museum, and the vegetable and fish market, with a visit to the famous Old Muttrah Souk ending the day. The second day the group were driven to Oman's unspoiled beaches on the way to Wadi Shab.

The last day encompassed both the present and the future for Radisson SAS. A trip to the scenic emirate of Sharjah, where Radisson SAS manages a 300-room resort on the Arabian Gulf was followed by a trip to Dubai. The journalists were taken to The Palm, Jumeirah, where Radisson SAS is set to manage two properties - one on the truck and one on the crescent - and given a presentation by the project's developer, Nakheel, on its planned and future projects.

"We know you have to experience things first before you can recommend them to others and we are pleased to find out that the journalists have a great appetite for the Middle East." said Anne-Sofie Rehfield, Regional PR Manager, Radisson SAS Denmark.

Lufthansa German Airlines, a member of the STAR Alliance, flies four times a week between Muscat and Frankfurt, with onward connections to Copenhagen. The carrier will be increasing flights to the UAE with a daily service coming into effect during the summer. Plans to increase the service to three times a day are scheduled for November.

"The fact that Lufthansa joins us in these promotional efforts for the Middle East confirms that we all believe that the region will become a popular travel destination for Scandinavia. The region offers superior hospitality, excellent airlines connections and most importantly a perfect getaway," said Rehfield.

The trip was organised in conjunction with the Oman Ministry of Information, Mark Tours, Oman Air, North Tours and Al Khalibiah Tourism.
