The Exhibition, which is held under the patronage of the Dubai Department of Civil Aviation, is the region's only event offering companies a platform to interact with engineers and contractors for airport development projects in the Middle East, North Africa and Indian Subcontinent.
"The Middle East region is one of the most dynamic markets for airport development with projects worth billions of dollars under execution. This exhibition is a barometer of how big potential it offers to players in the aviation business," said Ali Dawood, Manager, Aviation Sales and Marketing Middle East, South Asia and North Africa, Shell Aviation. "To us it presents an ideal window to consolidate our position in the region as well as reach out to new emerging players in this field."
"Shell Aviation follows stringent manufacturing specifications at every stage to ensure the highest quality levels between refinery and the aircraft tanks. This ensures that the fuel conforms to the requirements specified for the grade when it is delivered to the aircraft. Our quality control system is standardized on a global basis, which allows us to attain quality levels that are unmatched by any other supplier of aviation fuel," added Dawood.
Other products on the show such as, Shell Bitumens which include Mexphalte Fuelsafe, Cariphalte and Warm Mix asphalt, all of which offer substantial environment benefits. The Shell stable also offers piston engine oils, turbine engine oils, Aeroshell Greases, and Aeroshell Hydraulic Fluids and preservatives.
"Shell has been an active player in the Middle East's aviation industry for a long time and we would like to use this exhibition to establish closer ties with airlines, airport authorities and government officials," said Dawood. "New airport development plans in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and India indicate that the region will continue to be vibrant."
The region's airport developments are reflected in the US$ 4.1 billion expansion project for Dubai International Airport, the US$ 272 million airport at Jebel Ali, a US$ 800 million airport in Ajman, US$ 600 million expansions of Abu Dhabi International Airport, the US$ 5 billion Doha International Airport and a US$ 1.5 billion expansion of King Abdul Aziz International Airport, Jeddah.
