- PRESS RELEASE
Four leaders in the fitness industry will join course director (and ex-Commonwealth Games athlete) Mark Roberts, Hilton Kuwait Resort recreation and spa manager, for a five fitness conference the likes of which has never been seen in the region.
"I wanted to create a conference with a difference - something for fitness professionals as well as those of you who enjoy regular workouts. I also wanted to make sure that both types of participants would benefit equally from the conference. The topics of the master classes and the nature of the certification courses will also, I hope, address the gap between current delivery and the lack of certified Instructors in Kuwait."
Roberts has ensured that not only are the subjects and styles chosen the best, but that the key session leaders and speakers at Fitness In The Sun are among the best in the world. He has accomplished this admirable and the convention will include eleven 1 hour master classes, that will introduce students and instructors to new styles, moves and choreography, and 3 certification courses which will enable participants to become certified and teach their own classes.
Fitness In The Sun will open with a presentation by Brian Hill, MA, HMC, DHP, DipAL:. A former Harley Street stress consultant, Brian has used his skills in psychology and psychotherapy to help many sporting stars and teams realize and achieve their full potential, including snooker player Stephen Hendry and Scottish Premier football team Dundee United. "Hill will open our eyes to using the positive power of thought, whilst minimizing the destructive power of fear of failure, stress, and the other side of the coin complacency," explained Roberts.
One of three guest instructors is Dean Hodgkins. Hodgkins, a former 3 times World and 2 times European Karate champion, has become an international celebrity, with accolades that include appearing as an International fitness ambassador at many conventions in the USA, being nominated as the best international presenter at the' One Body One World' awards in New York, appearing and working in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Italy, France and St. Lucia (West Indies). He is the creator of the highly successful Yoga inspired fitness group exercise programme, which is currently taking the UK by storm.
During the convention Dean will be delivering master classes on Circuits, Fitness Yoga, Partner Conditioning, Dance Aerobics, and Combat Fitness. He will also be teaching two one - day instructor certification courses: Combat Fitness and Group Resistance.
The convention is also proud to present Jo Parry, who will also deliver a variety of master classes. Parry has been in the dance and fitness industry for more than 8 years, both teaching and choreographing. She holds a BSc in Health and Fitness and now devotes her time to being Pure Energy's music label manager. As a co director for the sold out 'Wicked Tours' in the UK, she is a senior crew member for Urban Funk. Parry will put her expertise in combining dance and fitness to good use, delivering master classes in Dance Idol, Urban Funk, Revolving Step, and Salsa / Dance aerobics.
To put the icing on the cake, master trainer Sandro Morelli is flying in straight from the USA to deliver a one day spinning instructor's certification course. As a senior trainer with Mad Dog Company in the USA, Sandro was one of the leading inspirations in creating and promoting the spinning boom. Providing a complete structure from set up and group dynamics to choreography, as well as health and safety tips, Sandro's expertise will ensure that by training with the best you will become the best in your delivery.
"Brian Hill, Dean Hodgkins, Jo Parry, and Sando Morelli are truly the best in the business. Having them all participating in one convention ensures that Fitness In The Sun is one of the top fitness conventions being held in 2005," said Roberts. "And I don't mean the best in the region. We wanted to provide students and fitness professionals with the same opportunity for quality continuing education that our peers enjoy in London, for example, and with this line up, we've done it
