Chairman of Nakheel, His Excellency Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem said, 'We at Ibn Battuta Mall are delighted to welcome the public to this unique entertainment and shopping experience. The much needed mall in the area caters to all age groups, offering visitors both well-known and new fashion brands, gourmet restaurants, homewares, electronics, bookshops and jewellery stores and an outstanding Food Court. At Ibn Battuta Mall, consumers can find anything their heart desires and are spoilt for choice.'

Ibn Battuta Mall is home to the French hypermarket, Géant and other anchor stores that include Debenhams and Fitz & Simons to name a few. Murray Scanlan, Mall Manager of Ibn Battuta Mall, adds, 'The response from the public has been fantastic with the combination of the amazing architecture and retail mix being very favourably received.'

'Customers can now visit the mall and experience the majesty and splendour for themselves' adds Murray. Ibn Battuta Mall's theme has been based on the travels of renowned 14th century explorer, Ibn Battuta, a man who travelled over 75,000 miles during his lifetime. This endeavour was attempted in a time where transportation was inadequate and unreliable. The architecture within the Mall's six main courts is a reflection of the six countries that had the most profound affect on Ibn Battuta in his extensive travels. The Mall promises to become the key shopping destination in the UAE with its thematic core giving shopping a new and attractive dimension.

The six courts are Andalusia, Tunisia, Egypt, Persia, India and China. The courts will also be filled with interactive displays and inventions, reflecting Islamic inventions of the time. So join us on a journey like no other, with Ibn Battuta Mall. Our doors are now open and visitors are bound to find what they are looking for and much more in terms of shopping, services and activities offered at the various courts in the mall.
