Driven by major growth in the development of value-added services and applications, which will in turn drive a surge in the amount of data these operators have to efficiently manage, the regional telecommunications market could see expansion of its storage systems and solutions requirement by 100% or more, according to STME Ltd., the leading enterprise storage integrator in the region.

'This information is mission-critical for operators,' says Eric Van Hoecke, CEO, STME. 'Implementing a leading-edge storage strategy that is both scalable and reliable will give operators an infrastructure that can grow as their array of services and customer base increase. Any organization, regardless of size, looks to multiple storage vendors for the optimum solution to protect its data, ensures fast and easy retrieval and management. For operators, this is even more vital as networks become more advanced, and data transfer speeds increase with implementations of advanced technologies such as EDGE and HSDPA.'

Mobile content applications require intelligent archiving and retrieval systems that cater to the level of usage by a growing subscriber base. Having worked with a number of leading telecom operators such as Vodafone Egypt and Jordan Telecom, STME has the knowledge and expertise to manage and protect terabytes of data for the increasingly sophisticated value-added services available today.

STME will be present with 19 partners at this year's Storage World Middle East, taking place from May 30th to 31st at the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel.
