Major renovation plans for Sheraton Doha
- Qatar: Wednesday, June 01 - 2005 at 11:24
- PRESS RELEASE
Sheraton Doha Hotel & Resort will have a new inside and outside look by the end of the year. Several plans in restructuring the 23 year old facilities have been confirmed by the owning company, Qatar National Hotels (QNH).
A typical modern Irish Pub will be established in the former bowling area on the ground floor. Guests can enter through a separate entrance and do not have to walk cross the main lobby of the hotel. This project is planned on being in operation by the year 2006.
Further, the main kitchen will also be renovated. This step is also planned to be completed by 2006. Moreover, all restaurants will be upgraded by the end of this year.
General Manager, Gerhard Foltin confirms that Sheraton Doha will offer a brand new Spa center to its future customers as another luxury feature for the prestigious hotel & resort. The modern design and the latest treatment programs will be available for club members and hotel guests. Hand in hand with this project goes the construction of a 25 m x 15 m sportive swimming pool. Together with the spacious swimming facilities, all landscaping of the garden will be remodeled. Also, the pool restaurant will get a different look.
In addition to that, the mezzanine floor will appear in a new look and feature only smart meeting rooms, including built in overhead projectors and up to date computers. Also, the Al Kut meeting room will be upgraded and appear in a new form of luxury.
By August, all outdoor painting work will be finished. The main building, as well as the Health Club and the meeting facilities will appear in a fresh white color. This major undertaking expands over several months, since the pyramid shaped building reflects a major challenge for the professional painters, who have to follow intensive security measures.
