The American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) has partnered with Dubai Healthcare City to work on the creation of this state-of-the-art facility, which when completed will become one of the world's leading centres for cosmetic surgery. The AACS Hospital will include a cosmetic surgery hospital as well as academic facilities that will bring world-class institutions and learning events to Dubai Healthcare City.
Dr Jeehan Qadir, Project Owner and Executive Director of AACS Hospital said: 'By 2007, most of our operations should be fully on stream. The AACS Hospital will provide all kinds of modern techniques in cosmetic services for our clients in the region. There is big demand for the latest advances in cosmetic surgery that are aimed at improving the lifestyle.
'This specialist hospital will provide the most comprehensive set of cosmetic surgery services of world class standards. We will bring leading cosmetic surgeons from USA and elsewhere, which will confirm our high vision in providing unique healthcare services for the region from our base in Dubai,' said Dr. Qadir.
He pointed out that the AACS Hospital will be ready by the time the World Congress of Liposuction will be held in Dubai. 'We will then be fully able to organise, support and conduct the World Congress. Our facilities here at DHCC will be ready and we would be able to conduct live surgery workshops for the audience and the delegates at the Congress. These live surgery workshops will act as interactive sessions for the world meet.'
Dr. Qadir said he was proud to be able to bring such a big scientific medical conference for the first time to the UAE and Middle East, and that this was a vote for the DHCC.
Medical Tourism Target
'By moving the World Congress of Liposuction to Middle East we ensured that our regional medical physicians will have more chances for post-graduation and continuous medical education. This will allow new ideas and new medical projects to be born, thus ensuring the attraction of international standards and services comparable to that of similar facilities in the USA, and thereby achieving the overall target of Medical Tourism,' said Dr. Qadir.
Jeffrey Knezovich, Executive Vice-President of AACS, said hundreds of surgeons are to attend the World Congress, which will also feature exhibitors representing the cosmetic surgery industry.
'The World Congress of Liposuction is a leading-edge event that is attended by international leaders who share techniques and advances in liposuction procedures and technology,' Kzezovich said. 'We believe that this region will be the focal point of cosmetic surgery in the future. Dubai, with this new medical hub at Dubai Healthcare City, is the natural choice for the meeting.'
The AACS is working to identify a Medical Director for the new hospital and educational facility who would move from the United States to set up operations in Dubai. The Medical Director will develop a curriculum to educate cosmetic surgeons in addition to creating a Fellowship Programme in the region.
