Grand Hyatt Dubai and Hyatt Regency Dubai appoint new Directors of Protocol
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, June 05 - 2005 at 16:06
- PRESS RELEASE
Hyatt hotels in Dubai have recently appointed Saeed Al Bagali and Gihad Yakoob Radi, two UAE nationals, as Directors of Protocol at Grand Hyatt Dubai and Hyatt Regency Dubai respectively, setting the pace in the government's goal for Emiratisation in the hospitality industry.
"Although a newcomer to the hospitality industry, Al Bagali's experience, drive and personality made him the perfect choice for the role. We are delighted to appoint him, and we feel that he will be a great ambassador in our mission to encourage more UAE nationals to join Dubai's booming hospitality industry," explained Peter Fulton, Regional Director/General Manager, Grand Hyatt Dubai.
Al Bagali's role sees him significantly involved in the development and growth of the hotel, including assisting in the Emiratisation process.
"Grand Hyatt Dubai has formed a committee in charge of achieving the Emiratisation goal set by the government. We have not reached that goal yet, but we are working hard on encouraging locals to apply for jobs in different divisions such as sales, HR and guest relations," Al Bagali commented.
Gihad Yakoob Radi, Hyatt Regency Dubai's new Director of Protocol, studied Business Administration and Computer Science in the US and Russia. He previously worked in the sales & marketing field and has over four years experience as Foreign Relations Manager for a local company where he gained extensive knowledge of international relations preparing him perfectly for his new role at Hyatt Regency Dubai.
"The hospitality industry is a fairly new career path for many UAE Nationals, and Hyatt Regency Dubai is committed to giving full support to all new members of staff when it comes to dealing with guests and visitors from all over the world. Hyatt believes that if ambition, determination and desire to work in a fast moving industry is there, many nationals could find the perfect career in the hospitality industry," explained Gordon Campbell, General Manager, Hyatt Regency Dubai.
On his new appointment at Hyatt Regency Dubai, Radi commented: "The government's goal is to reach a certain level of Emiratisation in all industries. So far the hospitality industry has been lacking behind. It is fantastic to see that an industry leader such as Hyatt Regency Dubai is spearheading the drive to encourage more UAE nationals to enter the hospitality industry."
"At Hyatt Regency Dubai we already have male and female UAE nationals working in HR, Security and Front Office. And with Hyatt's set plan to increase the number of national employees, we are always on the lookout for talented candidates", Radi added.
Grand Hyatt Dubai and Hyatt Regency Dubai are committed to being equal opportunities employers, and currently employ over 15 UAE nationals plus more than 50 other nationalities from across the globe.
