DIC will now provide Internet Protocol- (IP-) based voice, Internet and video services to residents at Emaar properties around Dubai.
DIC will operate these services through its IP services provision arm, DIC Telecom, which has overseen the successful operations of its IP network across DIC, Dubai Media City and Dubai Knowledge Village.
The acquisition of Sahm Technologies' telecommunications arm is a natural and suitable acquisition for Dubai Internet City. Given the experience that DIC's service provision arm has accumulated since its inception in 2000, residents in Emaar's properties can look forward to better services, improved quality of service and forward-thinking packages and services.
The telecommunications arm of DIC has successfully operated IP-based services for its Business Partners since its opening in 2000 and will now offer its wide range of services using one of the most advanced Ethernet access networks in the world.
This move demonstrates DIC's forward-thinking strategy of providing IP services in Dubai. Emaar have built some of the most advanced high-speed Internet-access technologies into their premises, enabling residents there to enjoy voice, television as well as high-speed Internet access in a manner that's unrivalled by other providers.
DIC Telecom will take over the premises used by Sahm and keep the same contact details as before. From 1 July onwards, customers will receive bills for their services from Dubai Internet City.
