German-Arab Forum expects 700
- Germany: Wednesday, June 08 - 2005 at 10:34
Next week from June 15-17 the Ghorfa summit takes place in Berlin. The German-Arab Trade Association is hosting the 8th German-Arab Economic Forum in Berlin's House of the Economy. More delegates than ever are expected this year as trade between Germany and the region booms.
The patron of this year's event will be Germany's Economics Minister, Herr Wolfgang Clement. The organisers expect more than 700 participants from all parts of the Arab world and Germany.
After featuring the United Arab Emirates in 2004, Egypt will be the central partner country of this year's Forum. Top business and government representatives from Egypt have announced their participation.
Following the official opening on June 15, three plenary sessions and seven workshops will discuss German-Arab cooperation in essential areas.
This will include IT & Telecommunications, the manufacturing industry, infrastructure, environment & water, power & petrochemical industry, financial services & investment opportunities. A Gala Dinner will be held on June 17.
Germany has been one of the main beneficiaries from the economic boom in the Middle East in the recent past. This will ensure a particular interest in the forthcoming Ghorfa business summit.
