The team will sport the Dubai Sports City logo during the entire campaign in their bid to make it to the World Cup 2007 in the West Indies.
Speaking at a press conference in Dubai Abdulrahman Falaknaz said: 'I am very proud to be here today, not only as Vice President of the Emirates Cricket Board but also as a Partner in Dubai Sports City, to give my support to the Emirates cricket team. It is a privilege for the team to have the support of Dubai Sports City, and on their behalf, I would like to thank Khalid Al Zarooni, President of Dubai Sports City for their commitment.
This is a great day for U.A.E. cricket and a fantastic opportunity to catapult the U.A.E. cricket team into the international cricket world. We wish them the very best of luck as they depart for Ireland for the ICC Trophy 2005.'
U Balasubramanian CEO, Dubai Sports City, commented: 'Dubai Sports City has a strong association with cricket, not only will we house the first global ICC Cricket Academy but you will recall recently we announced that the ICC is relocating their headquarters to Dubai and ultimately to Dubai Sports City. The Emirates Cricket Board today announced that Dubai Sports City, the world's first purpose built integrated sports city, will sponsor the Emirates Cricket Team for the forthcoming ICC Trophy 2005.
