Her Excellency will lead a delegation of five officials, including Deputy Minister Rassim Abbass D. Alainzy, to meet with companies from the global telecommunications industry. Demand for telecommunications within Iraq varies greatly, from the urgent need for telephones and mobile technology to other equipment such as cables and connections, telecom masts and antennae, public networks and repair equipment.

"We look forward to welcoming Her Excellency at the summit, to meet with those companies that will play a key role in the regeneration of Iraq's communications sector," said John Glassey, a director of the Iraq Development Program. "The support shown for the Iraq Development Program by the Ministry of Telecommunications - and by the various other government ministries - has been enormous and has played a key role in preparations for what looks set to be a hugely successful event."

The summit takes place in Amman on 28-30 June 2005. Though most positions have already been filled, a select number of places remain for those companies looking to further their business operations in Iraq.
