CEO Klaus Lovgreen explained that the upgrade, which involves both a significant technical enhancement as well as a major expansion in content, was initiated in response to evolving media environment in the Middle East and the rising demand for original business information in Arabic.

'We're seeing a very welcome increase in the number of media outlets in the region, and a resulting surge in both business information and global interest in organizations within the Middle East,' said Lovgreen.

'However, because a major proportion of these new newspapers and magazines are in English, we felt it was important to enhance our Arabic offering, so that all our customers had full access to the wealth of material being generated about the region's impressive growth,' he added.

AME Info is already the most comprehensive pan-Arab information source and serves the growing number of people looking for information in Arabic. The enhancements to the Arabic site have further strengthened AME Info's offering by providing its users six new daily newswires, giving real time updates on Real Estate, Personal Finance, Media & Advertising, Healthcare, Education, Retail & Leisure.

This complements existing newswires covering Energy, Oil & Gas, Finance & Economy, Telco, Internet & IT, Travel & Aviation and Executive Monitoring.

The site also incorporates the new AME Info look-and-feel design changes which offer an overall improvement in terms of browsing experience, ease of use, information retrieval and general content overview.

According to AME Info's founders, the enhanced Arabic offering is a crucial stage in the ambitious portal's development strategy.

'The enhanced Arabic site boosts AME Info's standing as business information portal, search engine, and real-time provider of news about the Middle East region,' added Lovgreen. 'We are in the information age and the key to success in this region, for small and large enterprises, is readily available, insightful, up-to-date knowledge. Our job is to supply that information in whatever from our users require, whether that is in English, or in Arabic.'

AME Info currently carries more than 48,000 news articles as well as full contact and activity details of more than 200,000 companies from 14 countries across the Middle East. With daily news updates categorized according to vertical markets, specialist commentary on the Middle East's financial markets and contributions from guest writers, AME Info offers a comprehensive analysis of business development and activities.
