Etisalat hosts delegates from regional telecom companies

Emirates Telecommunications Corporation- Etisalat- has hosted two delegations of telecom professionals from Bahrain Telecommunications Company (Batelco) and Syria Telecom.
The delegation from Batelco was led by Heyam M. Al Maskati, Manager- Strategy, Mobile Network, Batelco. The discussions focused on sharing of practices and experiences in video calls, hi-speed Internet access, video and TV streaming, multiplayer games and location-based services on mobile phones.
Saleh Al Abdooli, Manager Engineering- Mobile Systems, Etisalat, said: "The aim of this visit is to share with a similar corporation the knowledge and experience that we have gained. Etisalat was the first in the region to successfully conduct tests and migration to the 3G platform, and it is the cooperation established between the telecom operators in the region that enables us all to provide cutting-edge services to users in the region."
Nabeel Hamed, Manager, GIS, Syria Telecom led the delegation from Syria Telecom, and the topics discussed focused on systems and practices used in GIS projects. Etisalat's Hassan Al Aghbari, Project Manager, Geographical Information Systems, presented experiences and learning of Etisalat, and explained the latest technology that Etisalat uses.
Hassan Al Aghbari said: "The visit provided a great opportunity for cooperation between the two companies. By sharing learning, we are able to gain from the experiences of others, and to showcase our best practices and experiences in access network planning.
The delegation members and the Etisalat team asserted that such sharing of knowledge between operators in the region helps in the launching and improvement of services, proving ultimately beneficial for telecom users in the region.
