Romesh Sobti, Executive Vice President Head New Growth Markets (NGM) Asia & Middle East, joined Jan Willem van den Bosch, Country Executive UAE & Middle East to officially inaugurate the new premises at a ceremony held this morning.
Speaking at the occasion Mr Romesh Sobti said: 'The Consumer Banking business has witnessed tremendous growth since its inception in the UAE. We are committed and excited about the growing footprint of our franchise in the country.'
The ABN AMRO Dubai branch located on Khaleed bin Waleed road, aligned with the global look and feel, is the first bank in the country to introduce this first of its kind new generation interactive service kiosk, which will deliver extended services to customers in an automated, user-friendly interface featuring video conferencing technology.
In addition to the technological enhancement and zone concept, the bank has also announced a new service for its disabled customers by introducing a special service that includes a dedicated parking zone and trained staff to assist disabled customers to a specially designated teller area for their banking transactions.
Mr Jan Willem van den Bosch, Country Executive UAE said: 'ABN AMRO has been operating in the UAE for the last 30 years and we are delighted with the growth of the consumer banking business. The branch refurbishment will support the growth and increase the bank's visibility and scope of services to customers having begun first with Abu Dhabi, now Dubai and next Sharjah.'
Mr Sobti added, 'Our strategy is to take our services closer to our customers beginning this year with the installation of our offsite ATMs in Deira City Centre, Sharjah City Centre and Ibn Battuta Malls with a total of 10 ATMs to be placed by the end of this year. The new interactive video conference service kiosk, the first of its kind will also be available in key locations around the UAE. In addition to the technology platform, we will continue to further grow our presence geographically around the UAE via our service centres.'
ABN AMRO provides it customers with a range of products covering the entire spectrum of the consumer banking business including credit cards, personal loans, investments and preferred banking services.
