Dubai Sports City awards stadia piling contract to Middle East Foundations Group (LLC)

Dubai Sports City (DSC), the world's first integrated purpose-built sports city, today announced that Middle East Foundations Group (LLC) has been awarded the contract for the piling works for the cricket and multi-purpose outdoor stadia, to be located within the downtown area Dubai Sports City.
At a ceremony to mark the signing of the contract, Khalid Al Zarooni, President of Dubai Sports City, said: "We are delighted to award this contract to Middle East Foundations Group (LLC). The company is one of the largest piling contractors in the UAE with an excellent track-record having worked on a number of prestigious development projects in and around the Emirates. "
On signing the contract, Aidroos Hassan, Partner and Managing Director, Middle East Foundations Group (LLC), said: "We are extremely proud to have been awarded this contract. Dubai Sports City is a great project and truly unique. It is an honour to work with such a committed and dedicated team."
Dubai Sports City, the cornerstone project of DubaiLand spans 50 million sq ft of world-class sporting facilities and will encompass four state-of-the art stadia.
-A dedicated cricket stadium
-An indoor arena for extreme and leisure sports
-A multipurpose indoor stadium for all hard court games, ice hockey, concerts and events,
-A multipurpose outdoor stadium for rugby/soccer and track & field events
-Outdoor Hockey Field.
All four stadia will be designed by world-renowned architects GMP from Germany and will be as per specifications of the governing body of the sport concerned and certified for staging international events for global television broadcast.
The first phase of Dubai Sports City which includes the stadia ,sports academies, Victory Heights golf residential development, international schools and shopping mall is set for completion by the end of 2007.
