  • PRESS RELEASE

ENOC's innovative Challenge - a programme to ease disadvantaged youngsters into work - stepped up a gear today as its partnership with Dubai Creativity Center (DCC) kicked in.

For the first time the 10 young UAE Nationals identified by the Red Crescent charity and selected by ENOC for this unique cause-related campaign confronted the tests and tasks posed by the Challenge. They face a week-long series of inspirational lectures, talks and workshops to prepare them for the courses and practical on the job training that will follow.

Training outfit DCC's participation in the ENOC Challenge was announced at last Wednesday's launch by Hussain Sultan, Group Chief Executive and Board Member of the diversified petroleum company. DCC came on board as one of the key partners in this pilot project which aims to stand as a model for further cause-related corporate campaigns in the UAE.

Mr. Sultan said: "We hope the participants of the ENOC Challenge will benefit from the Center's carefully designed modules. These will attempt to unearth their talents and make them confident in the workplace.

DCC's Chairman, Dr Ali Al Hammadi, said: "We believe that the ENOC Challenge is the way forward for corporate social responsibility in this region. Companies can do things governments cannot.

"They are faster, more flexible and more responsive. They can also activate their peers far more effectively and put together groups around a cause that can make a difference.

"Our aim in becoming involved with the ENOC Challenge was to give something back to the community. It offered an opportunity to use what we do best to help those who need us most.

"This week, we are conducting a series of skill training and workshops for the participants in the ENOC Challenge. These workshops will prepare the participants to work in a professional environment, teach them new skills and enable them to discover hidden talents."

Dubai Creativity Center's experienced team will take participants through a series of modules. These include Dr. Omar Farhan on 'Your way to success'. Aref Fadel will conduct a workshop on Creativity and Innovative thinking. Abdullah Kattarah will talk about the importance of motivation. Finally, Dr. Saleh Faraj will talk about 'Planning for the future'.

Dr. Al Hammadi, said: "The four workshops we are running for the youngsters involved in the ENOC Challenge will teach them how to achieve success, think creatively and plan their future.
