This will be the second healthcare initiative from the healthcare management arm of the Varkey Group, Welcare World Health Systems (WWHS) following the groundbreaking of the "The City Hospital" at Dubai Healthcare City.

The Ambulatory Care Center is spread over an area of 13,000 sq ft and will offer all major specialities ranging from Cardiology, Rheumatology, Nephrology, ENT, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Ultrasound, Physiotherapy, Radiology and laboratory services.

Mr. Ahmad Bin Byat, Director General of Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority said, "If the UAE is to continue benchmarking healthcare standards in the region, we need to further strengthen its infrastructure through the creation of convenient healthcare solutions. I am sure the latest initiative from the Varkey Group will be well received by the residents in and around the Knowledge Village as it ensures quality medical services on their doorstep."

The Ambulatory Care Center has been strategically located to ensure filling the previously un-addressed demand for quality healthcare in new residential areas around Knowledge Village. Until now, residents of Jumeirah and its surrounding areas have had to travel to one of the hospitals in downtown Dubai for the level of service and expertise now available to the patients at WACC.
Mr. Sunny Varkey, Group Chairman-Varkey Group, comments, "We consider the inclusion of the Ambulatory Care Center a firm indication of our commitment towards serving the healthcare needs of the community in Dubai. The Center will offer high quality patient care in line with our tradition of excellence and we have chosen to include it at the Knowledge Village to reach out to the residents from the catchment area".

C.N Radhakrishnan, Executive Director, The Varkey Group, said, "The launch of the Welcare Ambulatory Care Center further supports our ambition of providing quality healthcare services for all. The strategic location will allow patients in the Jumeriah area to receive the same quality of care they are accustomed to at other WWHS institutions."

Highlighting the initiative, Mr. Vidur Kaushik, CEO of Welcare World Health Systems, said, " The concept of Ambulatory Care is completely unique, a walk in walk out service, that offers patients the full range of hospital services, such as day care beds, minor operation theatre, minor accidents and emergency, one bed ICU and an onsite ambulance service. All these services are provided in a high quality and personalised environment."
