National Bank of Dubai launches insurance-linked savings plans

National Bank of Dubai today announced the launch of NBD Savings Plans, a range of insurance-linked long term savings plans for customers throughout the UAE.

Partnering with global insurance provider, American Life Insurance Company (ALICO), the NBD Savings Plans package will provide a variety of insurance options for the protection of NBD customers and their families.

The new product allows customers to combine regular savings and insurance to fund long-term investments in education, home purchase, marriage, family protection and retirement. The insurance protection to be provided by ALICO covers a range of eventualities including death, critical illness and disability. With low monthly payments and flexible terms, NBD Savings Plans enables customers to accumulate their savings into tailor-made investment strategies that range from conservative to aggressive.

"Our main objective is to provide a platform for customers to better plan for their financial future," stated Suvo Sarkar, Head of Retail Banking, National Bank of Dubai. "We are constantly expanding our range of value added products, and NBD Savings Plans will bring customers the combined strength of two reputed organizations in the region - NBD and ALICO."

NBD Savings Plans are available for terms ranging from 1 year to 20 years, and returns are linked to a number of international portfolios of equity and fixed income managed by professional fund managers. All customers are also eligible to benefit from a free NBD savings account and a free-for-life NBD credit card. The product is available through NBD's network of over 40 branches in the UAE.
