The seminar involved teams from other GCC countries entrusted with implementation of an insurance indemnity plan for GCC nationals. This plan covers not only those GCC nationals working within their home country, but also those working in other GCC countries.

A large number of directors from different departments attended the seminar including those from the Research and Legal Affairs Departments, Retirement and Social Insurance Funds in GCC countries, and the Contribution and Registration Department.

The 3-day meeting covered a range of topics including the unified system manual project for social security pensions. This will cover all GCC nationals working in the public and private sectors within GCC countries.

Al Baqer, who headed the delegation, pointed out that the unified system manual project has highlighted several issues including those concerning the beneficiaries and the conditions of their entitlement, registration procedures, registration forms, contribution fees as well as procedures undertaken for disability and death.

Al Baqer also added that the unified system manual for social security pensions and retirement is expected to be ready by 2010.
