BSA and the Assembly of Professionals and Technicians in Lebanon (APTL) honour Lebanese winners of Pan Arab Web Awards

Business Software Alliance (BSA) and the Assembly of Professionals and Technicians in Lebanon (APTL), recently held a ceremony in Biel, Beirut, to honour the Lebanese winners of this year's Pan Arab Web Awards which took place in Dubai in March 2005.

    Business Software Alliance (BSA) and the Assembly of Professionals and Technicians in Lebanon (APTL), recently held a ceremony in Biel, Beirut, to honour the Lebanese winners of this year's Pan Arab Web Awards which took place in Dubai in March 2005.
The event was held under the patronage of the Lebanese Finance Minister, Demianos Ketar and was sponsored by the Lebanese Canadian Bank. Several high profile guests were present at the event including George Zard Abou Jaoude, Chairman and General Manager of Lebanese Canadian Bank and Fadi Abboud President of the Association of Lebanese Industrials.

During the event, George Abou Jaoude was nominated as the Honorary President for the Pan Arab Web Awards and the Lebanon Web Awards, to acknowledge his unwavering support towards both the awards.

Jawad Al Redha, Co-Chairman, BSA Middle East, said: "The success of the Pan Arab Web Awards is the result of the continuous support and assistance received from various individuals, government departments and corporates. We are grateful to Demianos Ketar for his patronage that has ensured the credibility and popularity of the award. I would also like to extend my congratulations to Mr. George Abou Jaoude on being nominated as the Honorary President of the awards."

"The rapid all round growth in the Middle East has attracted a lot of foreign investments, especially in the IT industry, increasing the significance of the Pan Arab Web Awards. These awards have given an opportunity for creative web designers in the region to exhibit their talents on an international stage," he added.
The Pan Arab Web Awards brings together web design companies, freelancers and web owners in a competition that seeks to identify, recognize and foster excellence in web designing in the Arab world. The objective of this competition is to evaluate websites all over the Arab world and honour individuals or teams that have designed and developed the best among them. Organisations and individual designers from all Arab Countries are eligible to participate in the Awards.
Pierre Mekarzel, President of ATPL, said: "The web award is a way of recognising the tremendous talent in web designing in the Arab world and helps in motivating creative web designers to nurture their skills. The excellent performance of Lebanese web designers at the Pan Arab Web Awards has further validated our decision to launch the Lebanon Web Awards in 2006. In this regard I thank BSA and the Lebanese Canadian Bank for their extensive support and dedication."

"We are certain that over the coming years these awards will significantly expand in scope and popularity throughout the Arab world, generating a larger number of entries. With each edition of the Award, we can be assured to see even higher standards in the quality of entries as well, owing to the ever evolving internet communication scenario globally," concluded Al Redha.

Entries for next year's Web Awards will be accepted till the 10th of July and the esteemed panel of judges will evaluate the designs from August 1st to September 28th , 2005.
