Qtel Chief Executive Officer Dr. Nasser Marafih said that the Qtel Summer Carnival will feature a host of fun and entertainment activities that will appeal to families and children of all ages and nationalities.
'The Qtel Summer Carnival will be one of this summer's biggest attractions in the country. We are sponsoring and organising an entire range of programmes and events that will inlclude plays, television and cultural programmes, competitions, singers, actors, games and so much more.'

Qtel Summer Carnival events include the Baba Langa show, a daily televised programme featuring popular children's entertainer Baba Langa. Local celebrity singer, Fahad Al- Kubaisi will be performing several live shows. Children can look forward to playing at a special inflatable playground, racing battery powered model cars on specially built tracks and making their own toys at the 'Make Your Own Toys' stand. They will also be entertained by Magicians, popular actors and cartoon walkabouts.

Elaborating on the Qtel Summer Carnival programmes, Qtel Executive Director of Group Communications Waleed Al-Sayed said, 'For the first time in Qatar, we have organised a troupe of leading Kuwaiti actors to stage popular shows like the educational 'Al-Sanafir' kids show and the comedian 'Ghedah Ounoos' play including a special play called 'Qtel City'.
'Visitors to City Center Doha can also look forward to seeing two popular Arab actors a week, who will be hosting a special daily competition where Qtel will be giving away very attractive prizes.'
'Summers in Qatar witness a huge influx of regional visitors who will be thrilled to see regionally acclaimed stage shows and appearances by leading actors like Tariq Al-Ali, Abdelnasser Darwish, Nasser Mohammed,Lamyaa Tareq, Mohammed Al Sairafi, Hayfa Hussain, Zahra Arafat,Amira Mohammad and Shayama Ali and many other popular TV personalities,' continued Mr. Al-Sayed.
Other exciting programmes include a cultural show which will showcase dance, music and costumes from six GCC nations - Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Saudi Arabia. 'This is particularly appealing to all our international visitors to the country who can learn more about the culture of our neighbouring GCC countries, ' stated Mr. Al-Sayed.
While most of the events will be taking place at City Center Doha, the 'Ghedeh Ounoos' and 'Qtel City' play will be enacted at Gulf Cinema.

This is the first time such an event is being hosted at City Center Doha, by a leading Qatari company like Qtel. City Center Doha witnesses a record number of 45,000 visitors daily and with the added attractions from the Qtel Summer Carnival we are looking forward to a thrilling summer for the people of Qatar.'
Qtel's line up of events for the Qtel Summer Carnival at City Center Doha, also includes extended days of its popular Qtel Internet City from 3 days a week to 7 days a week . Qtel Internet City is an exciting and highly successful community education initiative that introduces Qatar's children to the online world. It is a permanent fixture at City Center Doha, where children enjoy access to free Internet and IT training and workshops from accredited training instructors, all paid for by Qtel.
Activities at Qtel Internet City are based around teaching children to work with computers and software and especially the Internet, in a fun-learning environment, that also includes a digital photography workshop, a scientific library, a mini-cinema and an arts and crafts center.
