The company took the decision to implement this proactive exchange program after receiving a very limited number of customer reports of a defect in the batteries. The company recommends that on specific models, customers should stop using the batteries immediately, and operate their Notebook with the AC power adapter only.

Fujitsu Siemens Computers will provide customers a replacement battery free of charge. A website has already been implemented to assist customers with the exchange program.

'Customer satisfaction and safety is our primary goal. This proactive battery exchange program is important to Fujitsu Siemens Computers and we want to make sure that we reach as many of our customers as possible with this communication,' said Sheila Bibi, Marketing & Communication Director, International Sales Region, Fujitsu Siemens Computers.
