To be held on June 21 and June 22 at the Crowne Plaza, Abu Dhabi, the Open Days will highlight the recognized degrees available to students in Al Hosn's three faculties: Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Business, and Faculty of Arts and Science. In the two Open Days, a number of participating students will have the chance to win a trip to Canada for an intensive English language program offered by Alhosn University.

After Al Hosn university received the licensure by the Ministry of Higher Education, and supported by the Abu Dhabi Holding Company, the university's selection of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees has been specifically chosen to meet the needs of both students and potential employers.

Extensive research was undertaken by the Al Hosn University to determine what areas were in demand at both local and international levels. State-of-the-art facilities and world-class lecturers have been obtained by the university to ensure the highest standard of education is provided to students.

Al Hosn University has already put initiatives in place to guarantee that each student who graduates with a degree from Alhosn will have their education recognized throughout the world, particularly in the United States and Canada.

'The first of these steps will be applying for ABET accreditation, from the USA' said Professor Saghir Alhosn University Vice President. 'This and other measures will ensure that a student's undergraduate degree at our university will be recognised when pursuing graduate studies abroad.'

Alhosn University aims to uphold the highest standards of excellence in every aspect of education, including the faculty, staff, student body, the training facilities and curricula.

'This ensures that the university can earn the respect of local and international communities,' Professor Saghir says. 'Working to assist the United Arab Emirates become more self-reliant through an educated workforce, Alhosn University will play a prominent role in fostering the growth of engineering, science and professional education.'

The purpose-built city campus near the old Airport Road, next to Musallah Al Eid, is currently in the final stages of construction and is set to be ready to accept its first batch of students on September 10 2005.
