Coca-Cola's Regional Public Affairs and Communications Manager Mr. Jasim Wahab said that the campaign, which started on the 25th of May and finished on the 9th of June, aims at checking and providing all the logistical support to the established computer labs. This demonstrates Coca-Cola's continuous commitment to the development of the IT knowledge among the Kingdom's students.
Mr. Wahab also added that the campaign is part of a broader project concerning the execution and following up on the various programs launched by The Coca-Cola Company to serve the Jordanian society.
It is worth mentioning that the Schools.com project was launched in 2001 under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah.
Two computer labs were fully equipped during April 2001, and were officially opened by His Excellency Dr. Khalid Toukan; Minister of Education.
The first computer lab was set up in a primary school for students with special needs. These computers were equipped with software that can help students use Braille Language, a special tool designed for those who suffer from optical difficulties.
It is worth mentioning that the project aims at complementing the Ministry of Education's computerization initiative in the Kingdom's schools.
Coca-Cola follows up on its Schools.Com project
Coca-Cola's technical team in Jordan carried out the maintenance work for the computer labs in 14 schools, which were already established across the Kingdom as part of the Schools.com project.
