He comes from the Saudi Hollandi Bank (ABN Amro), Riyadh, where he was Deputy Division Head of the Investment Group.
Moukarram has worked and progressively advanced in the fields of Asset Management, Private Banking and Treasury Management. He began his career with Shearson Lehman Brothers and subsequently worked for the Saudi French Bank (Riyadh), as the Treasury head of corporate services. Subsequently in early 1996 he moved to Saudi Hollandi Bank (Riyadh) where he was a founding member of the Investment group reorganizing and positioning them for new competitive environments.
In 1999, Moukarram joined Standard Chartered Bank (London) where he held several positions with the bank, Amman and Beirut and Abidjan, where he was a founding member of Standard Chartered Cote d'Ivoire and regional treasurer for Francophone Africa.
Originally Syrian, Mr. Atassi is a Belgian national and holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration & Economics from the European University, Antwerp, and an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management (TBird), Arizona.
