Ericsson provides Wataniya Telecom in Kuwait with a complete push e-mail solution

Ericsson has won its first Ericsson Mobile Organizer (EMO) deal in the Middle East with Kuwaiti operator Wataniya telecom breaking new grounds for mobile data services in the region.

Deliveries will begin shortly and installation to be finalized within three months.

Under the agreement Ericsson will provide Wataniya Telecom with a complete push e-mail solution including both hardware and application software. Using Ericsson Mobile Organizer Wataniya will be able to empower its mobile users with value-added professional telephony services. This also confirms the operator's new focus on the enterprise sector paving the way for a leading position in the market.

"Setting the trend in a market like Kuwait is a key success factor. It is extremely important for us to offer such a solution that will position Wataniya as the prime driver in the enterprise telecom market", said Niklas Sonkin, Wataniya's Chief Strategic Officer & Director Business to Business.
