63% recruiters from UAE anticipate new jobs to be created in the second half of 2012, Naukrigulf.com Hiring Outlook Survey

A survey conducted by Naukrigulf.com with 65+ recruiters in the UAE region revealed an optimistic hiring sentiment across the country. 63% recruiter's anticipated new jobs in the second half of 2012, 50% said replacement hiring would take place, 6.5% say that layoffs will happen and only 5% said that there will be no hiring in the coming months.

Among all sectors, recruiters from the oil and gas sector were most upbeat with 83% of them saying that new jobs will be created in the second half of 2012.

52% recruiters predicted that jobs will be created for the entry level (1-3years) job seekers.

The Naukrigulf.com Hiring Outlook survey is conducted to gauge the hiring trends across sectors. This gives a clear perspective about the employment opportunities in the market and throws light on increments, job opportunities and attrition levels.

Tarun Aggarwal, Business Head, Naukrigulf.com said, "Hiring sentiments in the UAE are positive denoting increasing healthiness in the economy. Core sectors Oil&Gas, Construction, Retail and Hospitality are seeing good demand for new recruitments. Importantly there is adequate manpower available and companies are able to hire without much challenges. There remain certain pockets where hiring nationals and interestingly experienced Expats (esp Indians) but we expect that to get addressed in the near term."

The survey also revealed the increments organizations gave out to their employees in 2012. 38 % of the recruiters surveyed said that the range of increments will be between 5% and 10%. 29% said that the range will be within the range of 10% and 15% and 16% said that their increments will be less than 5%.

Hiring right talent seems to be a major cause of worry amongst recruiters. 54% of recruiters who took the survey said that they face a talent crunch while hiring their employees. When questioned them on which nationalities do they experience talent crunch then 60% of them said Indians and about 57% said Arabs (including nationals)

Also 36% said that talent crunch is highest among 4-8 years experience bracket and almost equal number (33%) said that it is difficult to find right talent within the 8 years plus experience bracket.

Methodology: The Naukrigulf.com Hiring Outlook survey is a half-yearly survey which is sent out to the registered clients of Naukri.com. This is an e-mail survey and the results are compiled using statistical and analytical techniques.
