Abdulwahid Janahi appointed General Manager of Benefit Company

Abdulwahid Janahi, has recently been appointed General Manager of the Benefit Company B.S.C. (c).

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Janahi was previously Assistant General Manager, heading the Electronic Banking Division of Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK).

Benefit is licensed by the Bahrain Monetary Agency (BMA) to offer ancillary services in the financial sector, and is the sole provider of services such as GCC-wide, cross-border ATM sharing under the GCCNET arrangement, as well as the switching of local debit card transactions at point of sale counters, and Bill Payment Services.

Mr. Janahi expressed his enthusiasm to work with such an esteemed Company that had set the benchmark GCC-wide in terms of quality, technological advancement and innovation.

Educated in a Management and Marketing background in Texas, USA, Mr. Janahi began his career as a Credit Analyst with American Express, then later worked for Batelco; first as a Senior Procedures Analyst, then returned to Batelco several years later as Senior Manager and Head of Business Development for Batelco the Internet Service Provider (ISP) in Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Janahi was also previously Deputy Head of Marketing for Arab Financial Services, where he focused on marketing AFS card management solutions as a third-party card processor among the financial institutions in GCC and Pan-Arab market.

His consultancy and marketing research, and strategic implementation expertise was sought after by international accounting and consulting firm, Coopers & Lybrand, prior to its merger with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
