A United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime sub-regional office is to open in Abu Dhabi in September. The office will coordinate with the Higher Committee for Drugs Control in the UAE and similar bodies in the GCC countries. Its prime focus is on lowering demand for drugs among young people.
