Fastlink launches new service

Fastlink and Beecell, in cooperation with the renowned Islamic figure Amro Khaled, have launched a new service that enables customers to listen to mosque sermons and Islamic preaching through the SMS, and get parts of Khaled's lectures through the MMS.

The service is the first of its type in the Middle East by Fastlink and Beecell to offer religious content on the mobile via SMS and MMS. The launching came as more people are using the mobile phone as a direct and personal communications means in all aspects of life.

Fastlink Data Services Manager Ziad Masri said Fastlink has introduced the religion data services to meet the needs of its customers and provide them with an easy access to information on prayer times and other guidelines.

The sermons of Amro Khaled are widely popular among Fastlink customers, who now total 1.4 million. The messages can be available on daily basis for those wishing to receive them.

Fastlink, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, provides a wide array of data services, such as updated news on the financial and stock market, weather forecasts, horoscope, and banking information.
