Located next to Abu Dhabi's Zayed Military Hospital, the 5,800 square metre centre will comprise a treatment unit, state of the art medical services and a research institute in a specially built facility. Upon completion it will be managed by the Imperial College of London, one of the world's leading medical and academic institutions and cater for up to 200 patients per day.
Announcing the award, Ahmed Al Sayegh, Chairman of ALDAR Properties, said: "this development amply demonstrates the versatility and capability of ALDAR to undertake a development that is so significant and valuable to the region."
He added: "We chose Saudi Oger Emirates as the main contractor for this unique development because of their international and regional experience and their commitment to meet our exacting standards and requirements.."
The Imperial College London Diabetes Centre Abu Dhabi is on a fast track construction programme that will see the development fully commissioned and operational in early 2006. Saudi Oger Emirates is a branch of Saudi Oger, a leading force in major international construction projects.
