CO-OP ISLAMI implements SAP solutions

CO-OP ISLAMI, the region's leading producer and retailer of real Halal products, announced today the company will start implementing an advanced Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) programme developed by SAP, the world's largest inter-enterprise software company.

As part of its development plans, CO-OP ISLAMI will initiate a programme under the name "Enhance and Develop the Growth of Excellence (EDGE)". The programme, which will establish an electronic system linking the factory, distribution center, and the CO-OP ISLAMI's offices in the export market, is aimed at facilitating the company's logistics and enhancing its productivity.

Saleh Abdullah Lootah, Chief Executive Officer - CO-OP ISLAMI, said: "CO-OP ISLAMI is constantly committed to the development and improvement of the quality of products and services its provides."

The system will connect the company's branches with its factory, five distribution centres, as well as the CO-OP ISLAMI's offices in export markets in GCC, through an advanced electronic system that provides accurate information on the work process.

Saleh Abdulla Lootah added: "The programme will reduce inefficiencies, optimize the supply chain, and improve the company's logistics and distribution network. This would contribute to improve the productivity and customer satisfaction."

Over the past years, CO-OP ISLAMI has recorded remarkable growth figures, thus allowing the company to expand its operations. In line with the company's expansion, the number of computer applications used by CO-OP ISLAMI and its associates have also increased. The new system will facilitate CO-OP ISLAMI's operations and provide an opportunity to serve customers in the best and most efficient possible manner.
