BenQ sets ambitious sales targets for Middle East digital projector market
- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, June 30 - 2005 at 12:48
- PRESS RELEASE
Executives at BenQ, the leading digital lifestyle company, are confident that they are on course to capture the number two position for sales of digital projection systems in the key markets of the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, following strong sales figures in the first half of 2005.
BenQ is a relatively recent entrant to the global market for digital projectors, but has already secured the number two spot in Asia. Within the Middle East, strong sales throughout the early months of 2005 are pushing the company towards a similarly strong position.
"BenQ is revolutionising its range of digital display technology and advanced projection systems, and are seeing strong growth in the corporate, government and education sectors of the Middle East," said Manish Bakshi, general manager, BenQ Middle East.
"We are also seeing strong growth in the home theatre market, as projectors provide better quality images, and become smaller, easier to use and more affordable," he added.
To share the lessons of recent growth in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, BenQ brought in Ayman H. Akel, general manager at its Saudi distribution partner, Rodana Digital, for a best practice sharing session. In total, over 120 corporate dealers, consumer electronics specialists and other power retailer and distributor staff attended the briefing on new products within BenQ's line-up, including its latest innovations.
BenQ's most popular offering is its PB6110 model. Employing DLP technology, the projector has a potential display size of 300 inches, with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. It has a lamp life of 3000 hours and, thanks to its relatively high contrast ratio of 2000:1, produces very pronounced colours.
More recent offerings include the PB2140, the star of BenQ's mobile series weighing only 1.9kg and perfect for professionals on the move.
