Presenting the 2005 Postcard Millionaire campaign, Salem Al Shaya, Assistant Director General, Emirates Post, announced that a total of AED20million in cash prizes and other merchandise will be won during the campaign.

The inauguration of the 2005 campaign also saw the introduction of Bareed, the Postcard Millionaire mascot that will carry the campaign's core messages to people across the UAE. Bareed, which means 'post' in Arabic, takes the form of one of the UAE's most beloved birds - the falcon. On the day of the launch, July 6, Bareed will make an appearance at various post offices in the emirates to introduce the new campaign.

In line with customer feedback, the 2005 campaign has been adapted to incorporate a host of new features, including double the prize money, more instant prizes - including cash prizes up to AED10,000, and fixed weekly draws every Wednesday, during which one lucky person will win AED100,000. The new pre-draw ticket registration guarantees that every ticket is entered into the draw and enables the organisers to contact winners directly after each draw. Registration can be accomplished via SMS on 6113 or the dedicated IVR number on 600 566 566. Each registered ticket is valid for entry into a single draw; all registered tickets will be entered into the grand draw for AED1million at the end of the campaign.

"As you are aware, Emirates Post has been trying hard to deliver services with high standards. Over the past few years, we have not only improved our postal services, but also introduced several non-postal services as part of our strategic vision to make our post offices one-stop shops for a variety of services. The Postcard Millionaire campaign is a shinning example of the innovative initiatives launched by Emirates Post," Mr. Al Shaya said.

Postcard Millionaire has been a dynamic campaign, generating strong public response and positively affected the lives of many people.

The 2004 Postcard Millionaire campaign has led many cherished dreams into reality, said Aldrin Fernandes, CEO, The Millionaire Company, the sole distribution and marketing agency for the Postcard Millionaire Campaign in the UAE. "For many of the past winners their windfall has enabled them to help an ailing parent, or to set up a home, or even to get married. With over 20million to be won, thousands more now have the chance to realise their dreams," he said.

In addition to the AED1million grand prize and the AED100,000 weekly prizes, participants can win a host of other prizes through the 'scratch and win' portion of each ticket. These include cash prizes of up to AED10,000, gift vouchers for mobile telephones from Cellucom, and 125cc motorbikes from State Motorcycles.

Cellucom-Nokia, one of the main supporters of the 2004 campaign, has returned as the title sponsor of the 2005 Postcard Millionaire campaign. Burger King and UAE Exchange have also reaffirmed their commitment to the new campaign. New partners for the Postcard Millionaire campaign are Air Miles and National Bank of Dubai (NBD).

Through the campaign's successful tie-ups with Air Miles and UAE Exchange, participants can win and accumulate a minimum of 250 Air Miles or send a demand draft to any worldwide destination, at no charge. The AED30 Postcard Millionaire packs will be available at Emirates Post offices and retailers nationwide from July 6.

The Postcard Millionaire website (www.postcardmillionaire.com) is being updated with information on the 2005 campaign. Additional information will be available through the campaign hotline - 600 566 566.
