- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, July 03 - 2005 at 16:39
- PRESS RELEASE
Fastlink has signed an agreement under which Link will be the provider to all Accessme customers, thus becoming one of the largest Internet Service Provider (ISP) in the Kingdom.
Fastlink CEO Mohammad Saqer said, "Accessme customers will continue to receive the same premium service as they have done during the past years. All new customers whose subscriptions have been transferred to Link will be offered a number of privileges and attractive discounts while their contracts and agreements will be maintained without change."
Link has introduced a number of new data transfer services in hopes to further spread the Internet service and support the ICT sector in the Kingdom.
Accessme General Manager Samer Joudeh said, "The move came after a detailed study of the market, in view of which Accessme sought out the best way to maintain the level of service provided to its customers." He added that Accessme will embark on new sets of services after acquiring the necessary licenses, which are now attainable following the liberalization of the communications market. "Link was considered for the move in light of its capabilities and experience as an ISP. Furthermore, the support it will enjoy from Fastlink, being a member of the Group, will reflect positively on the quality of service and the benefits which customers are bound to enjoy," he said
According to Joudeh, Accessme has exerted serious efforts during the past years to provide customers with high quality service, the fruit of which was a distinguished and loyal client base, who constituted the backbone of the company.
Last year Fastlink united with Link in a bid to provide a series of unprecedented data transfer services and create a qualitative change in the Jordanian Internet market, also by taking advantage of the new environment created by the liberalization of the communications market. Link also hopes to take advantage of Fastlink experience and its large client base in the mobile market to develop its Internet services and introduce new technologies and products to customers.
Link, a member of Fastlink Group, provides Internet service to three categories of users: home users, small and medium sized businesses, and large corporations. The company provides pre and post-paid service, telephone linkage, high speed leased line, ISDN and ADSL, in addition to other solutions that meet the various needs of customers.
Saqer said that Link's services are designed to meet the needs of different sectors, noting that the company hopes to play an effective pivotal role in the advancement of the Internet market, working to further spread the Internet usage among the public, increase users and eventually contribute to transforming Jordan into a regional ICT hub.
Internet usage in Jordan currently stands at 6% of the population, a relatively low percentage in comparison with advanced countries.
Link adopts the same strategy as that of the mother company, Fastlink, looking to be a pioneer in its products and technologies, and a leader in the market. Link has served various sectors in the Kingdom and provided the latest technologies in the area of data transfer. Its clients include a number of governmental institutions and private companies.
